Gracie's Day

Today we're thinking about Grace, the good old dog who taught me all about family.

She was always happy to see me even if lately she couldn't play anymore.

She welcomed all family pets

and took care of them just as she did her people.

Grace was Grandma Anne's dog (the editor's mom),

but the kids were her kids,

raised from kindergarten through college,

she would always intervene if anyone came too close to them.

"Go find Hanna," was probably her favorite command.

and Ben's bed was a favorite spot lately.

Summer Break

Hi all!

It has been more than a month, and I can't wait to stop by all of your blogs very soon, but I thought I'd update you all while I can get the editor to type.

It is finally summer here, after many false starts and much rain I headed out to see how the water lilies were coming along. The editor came along and was still attached while . . .

I really went for it. she kept shouting, "leash!" but whatever, I don't know why she didn't want to go swimming too, there are fish in there!

This is the last pic before we had a mad scrabble to take off my collar and the editor got to practice her balance skills.

Do you guys all like to swim? previously I would only go this deep in the pool in a quest to chase my editor when she's already swimming. This was a big surprise for all.
